Hallam Sinfonia: Resurgence

Saturday 10 October, 4.00pm & 6.00pm
Victoria Hall, Norfolk Street, Sheffield
We shall be a chamber orchestra of fewer than 30 players, offering a programme consisting of two popular baroque works.
We have worked hard to include all orchestra members who wanted to join in, which presented some programming challenges. Soloists in the Brandenburg concerto will be drawn from within the orchestra: our two flautists Judith Ennis and Kathryn Hathaway, and on violin our leader Hannah Thompson-Smith.
The concerts will conducted by old friend of the Hallam Sinfonia Richard Laing, whom we shall be delighted to see again. He had been due to conduct a much larger scale concert on this date, with that programme including the Beethoven Triple Concerto with the Leonore Piano Trio, as part of the Beethoven 250 anniversary celebrations. We hope to return to that programme at some point in the future.
