Hallam Sinfonia are once again joining forces with Hallam Choral Society, this time in a
concert that showcases some great English music from the early twentieth century, on Saturday 3 December.
The biggest work is Edward Elgar's short oratorio The Music Makers, for mezzo-soprano, chorus and orchestra, and which celebrates what it means to be a musician. Also on the programme are Ralph Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs, and Peter Warlock's Capriol Suite for string orchestra.
Clara Rundell, Musical Director of Hallam Choral Society, conducts, with Rebecca Barry as the soloist.
The concert is at St Mark's church, Broomhill, at 7.30pm on Saturday 3 December. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.
